i prefer to be spontaneous and use only what i deem necessary at the time most of the time its pure intention and power of will but there are times i used my tools and other ingredients.

i must admit i do like using herbs and music when casting but i don't feel it necessary.

when doing a ritual i am, a sucker for dressing up as i feel it helps put me in the mindset i have a special ritual cloak and 2 other cloaks which i generally wear from time to time but i did enjoy only wearing my ritual cloak on midsummer last year, it was a solo ritual but i have no problem doing a group skyclad ritual as i believe its nothing to be ashamed of.

what do you guys do when it comes to crafting is it purely spending 24 hours to prepare or spontaneous like me, do you also have a special cloak or robe to wear during rituals or will anything do

As far as performing rituals, I have been involved in both spontaneous and extremely well planned rituals.

To be honest, I have always preferred the raw energy that generally comes from spontaneity, which I believe adds power to the purpose and intent. Like you, I work on intent and believe that my powers of intent are very strong.

I have found that the well planned rituals lack something in that it has always felt like I have been play-acting and following a script, which I do find extremely difficult at the best of times.

I suppose what I am trying to say is that I would rather work on something that is fresh and put together for a specific purpose and that uses the minimum of tools and materials as I personally feel this is more powerful and genuine.

Don't get me wrong, I am not knocking the more formalised practices ... it is just that they don't appeal to me particularly.

I'm also the spontaneous type and whatever I am wearing, is usually good enough. I sometimes do ritual and use tools and herbs/crystals etc, but mostly its just me, my intent and maybe a candle.
