Well everyone, the Utamaro Revealed site is complete now and I wanted to post the official link here: -

If you are interested in Japanese art this is the most comprehensive resource that has ever been written about the the subjects, themes and motifs of Utamaro. Smile

Gina has also started a blog about Japanese art which is linked to the main page.

For those of you who are not interested in Japanese art but have supported her in spirit all the way, I wanted to say a sincere thank you. It has always been appreciated, sincerely. Thanks to you all. flower

Ook! - please do not feel you have to apologise for promoting something as unique as Gina's book ... we are very happy to be able to provide a vehicle to enable you to do so.

I believe Logmadr/Tomi has an idea he wishes to discuss with you regarding the book - you will need to speak with him about this.

Once again, many congratulations to Gina for completing this wonderful project and for getting it to publication and launch stage.

May I take this opportunity to wish her every success with the book and with the next one in the writing stage.

Well, it's been finalised. Smile

The book signing at The Willow Tree for Utamaro Revealed will be on Saturday the 25th October between 14:30 and 16:30. Every book bought on the day will be accompanied by a mini 'Thank You' pack as well.

Tell all your friends about it! You never know, they may be interested in Japanese art or stories from Japan around the 17th-18th century or the variety of people who lived in the pleasure quarter districts (where the courtesans and Geisha lived). I will be approaching local colleges to try to publicise the event and will also be sending a press release out over the next couple of days.

A big thank you to Sarah and Annie for their support in this endeavour.

oh oh oh oh ook! Now you've said the times I might be able to go because my law exam is in the evening so I should be able to go! Yippee oh I'm so chuffed! :-D It'll be great to see you and meet Gina finally! And I do love Japanese things and want to learn more about Japans history! So this its an added bonus definitely!! xxx

Oh I'm so pleased to hear that Aurora. Gina is certainly a wealth of knowledge and I have to tell you, there are a lot of very funny old stories to share which are mostly based on real events too. Brilliant stuff. It's also been ages since I saw you so that'll be a fabulous bonus. Gina has heard a lot about you for a long time so I know she will be thrilled to meet you at last. bounce

Amazing what can be achieved in the space of just 50 minutes.

Just popped into town and so-far the Library, the Winter Gardens, the Royal Hotel, the Art Shop and a book shop have all agreed to display our poster for Gina's book and the mini-poster for the book-signing. Tesco have agreed to look at the leaflet and will make a decision about putting it on their display board and a wonderful person on this forum has agreed to distribute posters at the College (Thanks!!).

The newspaper reporter said he is definitely interested in talking to us about the book and the launch and I am going to speak to him on Tuesday when he gets back from his holiday (thanks for the link up Tomi. Smile

).

This is just the start of course, but exciting nonetheless.
