I only begun learning this method (dowsing ) a few months ago (which is silly seeing as it is the most uncomplicated form of divination and i started like many with the tarot and runes which in comparison are very difficult)

I was wondering if any of you lot use it a lot and whether using different crystals helps you with different answers for example wuold you use a rose quartz to answer questions about love etc.

Also do you think that this could be used to help me in genral dowsings, i find meditation very difficult my brain wont stop and i have been practicing for years (obviously i can do it i just find it hard) So that if i was to dowse with a crystal to helf with focus and concentration i would find it easier. Seeing as i already do this when meditating (often holding or just being near Black agate can help me to concentrate and focus better though i realise these arn't the main attributes of this stone i personally find it works very well for me.)

Any thoughts or other queries you wanna throw in with my lot pirate

I don't like dowsing...or Tarot...

Aoife always says to me I don't like things I'm bad at...which is wrong, and I had to prove...So I bought a pendulum from The Willow Tree (Blue Aventurine, kinda plane, not very pretty) and started practicing...At Aoife's house I got out my pendulum to show her how good I am...when I got it out she said to me "You do realise that is the exact same colour as your eyes, right?"

And she's right...It is the EXACT same colour as my eyes with the same patterns and everything...It was freaky...

LOL I am just thrilled the group has taken off! It's less then a year old, so it's weird that it's got so much interest! Plus it's weird to see how many teenagers in Somerset alone are interested!

Do people realise the initial question was never answered?! (mainly due to tomi immediatly going off topic with one of his pointless stories Razz

) anywho, I for one would like to know. I would think that the use of crystals related to the question would help but I'm not too sure. Could it influence the answer in some way? Have you tried anything in relation to this post since it was started? These are the things people want to know! (well me anyway, so sort it out!)
I also have difficulty concentrating at times and think that using a crystal for such ends would likely help (i think it's especially difficult to clear your mind when you're as intelligent as us Wink

) It's strange, I never used to have problems before....actually maybe not thant strange as i used to meditate at least once a day. I know practice makes perfect (aparently) but I just never seem to have the time for it recently. Crying or Very sad

Well spotted Solvo!

It depends who you ask, but yeah, in my opinion, the crystal you use can (though doesn't necessarily have to) affect the answer. The first, most important thing, is to find a crystal that suits you. Different people work better with different materials, and if the crystal you are usng grates against you, or is uncomfortable, it is probably not gog to wrk very well with you. Sometimes individual piecs of a stone will particularly well (or notwell at all) rather than it being the TYPE of crystal. Some people find all crystal pendulums hard to work with and work better with a metal, glass or wooden pendulum.

As to the crystal affecting the answers, I'm not sure, having never tested it. I suppose it might be appropriate to use Rose Quartz for a quesion about love and friendship, but no stone should make the answer any different or less accurate, but there's a possibility it couldmke it less clear.

If you're not sure which stone to work with, try loads of different ones out. If you're after a nice neutral stone to start with, I'd suggest Clear Quartz, as it's strong and is good for clarity. (Some people find it a bit too 'buzzy' for a pendulum, though).

I do a lot of dowsing, and in my opinion, it doesn't really matter what your crystal is made of, especially if you are just asking questions. However, having said that, if you are doing healing using a pendulum, it can be beneficial (but not necessary) to use a related crystal, whose properties will add to the healing. Using a chamber pendulum with a 'witness' can also be useful in some instances, especially if you are looking for lost people, animals or items or trying to find a particular mineral in the ground.

If its physically broken, don't use it, especially if its a crystal one. You should return it to the earth by burying it somewhere special. I'd say you should buy a new one or make one. You can even just use a pendant on a chain.
